A methodology-grounded SEO practice for operators on a multi-year horizon.
Grove is a small practice that runs SEO engagements against Google's published systems: the Helpful Content System, the Search Quality Rater Guidelines, the EEAT framework, the Panda Patent inheritance, Penguin 4.0, the March 2024 core update, the scaled content abuse policy. The methodology IS the product. Generalist agencies hedge to vague best practice language because they don't read the source documents. Grove reads them and works against them by name.
How we engage
Engagements run as monthly retainers shaped to the surface where the work is needed. A site with a Helpful Content demotion gets a remediation-shaped first quarter against the integrated quality signal. A site with thin author entity gets an EEAT operationalization program. A site with a depleted link profile gets outreach-routed acquisition that survives Penguin 4.0's URL-level evaluation. The diagnostic surfaces which one your site actually needs. We don't pitch the same engagement to every buyer.
The work runs on quarters and years. The first two quarters surface the load-bearing improvements. The next two compound. Year two onward is sustained authority. We don't price against the months Google can be moved in, because Google can't be moved in months, only in the direction the underlying research already supports.
What we don't do
We don't ship paid links, link exchanges, or scaled placements. Penguin 4.0 zero-weights all of it at the URL level; the budget would be waste. We don't ship LLM-scaled content programs. The scaled content abuse policy applies to AI output the same way it applies to scraper output and content-farm output. We don't pitch "rank fast" or per-position guarantees. The buyer set this kind of pitch reaches is the buyer set this practice doesn't serve well.
Per-incident penalty recovery is the work of the sibling practice, Restore. Buyers who arrive at Grove in active crisis get routed there; buyers who graduate from Restore's recovery often continue here for the long-term retainer.
About the author
I'm Yan Dobromyslov, the SEO specialist who writes the expert content layer of this site. I've shipped SEO engagements across regulated B2B service verticals: legal, medical, dental, real estate, white-hat methodology. The patterns the practice works against are the patterns I've watched compound across multi-year engagements with operators who decided their next agency would be the last one. The writing on Grove is mine; the practice is what the engagements converged on.
